Baring sharp fangs, the creature moves dangerously close to the young woman, its foul breath brushing against her. You are dealing with a Pishaka, a bloodthirsty undead creature; a murdered man whose body, hidden by the murderer, did not receive the last rites. Since then, his tormented soul has been spreading terror until it kills the person responsible for its torment. Te arrepientes amargamente de haber entrado en Kashi. En primer lugar, involuntariamente tomas posesión de un objeto sagrado, una secta de asesinos busca eliminarte como su máxima prioridad, crees que haces lo correcto al deshacerte de este Katar Sagrado pero los Thugs lo recuperan, la guardia te busca... y, para concluir, tu desconocimiento de las costumbres locales te lleva a cometer un sacrilegio.

Mientras intentas poner en orden tus pensamientos, piensas en la mejor manera de conseguir una montura y salir de esta ciudad lo antes posible. No sientes mucha simpatía por todos estos dioses polifacéticos.

¡De repente, un grito de pánico atraviesa el silencio de la noche! En un instante, las dudas que te torturaban son barridas por un sentido del deber: alguna víctima afligida te pide ayuda. Corres en la dirección de donde vino el grito. Frente a una opulenta mansión, cinco guardaespaldas yacen en el suelo, degollados. De repente, bajo la pálida luz de la luna, te das cuenta de que no es sólo la tela la que se está haciendo jirones. Trozos de carne putrefacta se desprenden de su cráneo y de sus miembros demacrados, dejando al descubierto los huesos. Mostrando caninos afilados, la criatura se acerca peligrosamente a la joven, rozándola con su aliento fétido. Estás tratando con un Pishaka, un no-muerto sediento de sangre; un hombre asesinado, cuyo cuerpo, escondido por el asesino, no recibió los últimos sacramentos religiosos. Desde entonces, su alma en lucha siembra el terror hasta que, a su vez, mata al responsable de su tormento. El vampiro abre sus manos huesudas, con uñas ennegrecidas por la tierra de un entierro clandestino, y se dispone a estrangular a su víctima antes de chupar su sangre caliente. ¿Qué arma planeas usar para atacar al Pishaka? ¿Tu espada? NARRACION DEL COMBATE:

El hedor te golpea antes incluso de que alcances al monstruo.

El Pishaka alza la cabeza al oír tus pasos. Sus ojos, hundidos en órbitas ennegrecidas, brillan con un hambre antinatural. La joven forcejea bajo los brocados rotos, paralizada por el terror.

No hay tiempo para advertencias. Tu espada silba en el aire nocturno y corta la espalda descarnada del no-muerto. La hoja atraviesa carne putrefacta con una resistencia húmeda y desagradable. El Pishaka emite un chillido agudo, más animal que humano, y se vuelve hacia ti mostrando colmillos ensangrentados.

Se te abalanza. Sus manos huesudas rozan tu hombro, dejando un frío imposible, como si la tumba misma intentara asirte. Retrocedes medio paso y lanzas un segundo golpe. El acero le abre el pecho de lado a lado; fragmentos de carne muerta y polvo se desprenden con el impacto. La criatura se tambalea, pero no cae. Su mandíbula chasquea a centímetros de tu rostro.

Un último envite. Reúnes toda tu fuerza y descargas un tajo ascendente que parte el torso corrupto. El Pishaka queda rígido, arqueado hacia atrás, como sostenido por hilos invisibles. Durante un instante, un aliento oscuro parece escapar de su boca abierta en un suspiro que no pertenece a este mundo. Aprovechas la ocasión para lanzar un último y definitivo golpe volteando la espada.

You decapitate the creature, preventing it from ever harming anyone again and allowing its soul, finally freed from its physical form, to find peace. You rush to the aid of the young woman, who is lying motionless on the ground. She has only fainted! You marvel at her delicate features and fresh complexion. No one will dare look for you in the residence of the Prime Minister of this region."

The young woman extricates herself from the wreckage of her palanquin just as armed servants rush out of the house, ready to punish whoever dared lay a hand on their mistress. But you have been so quick that their intervention is unnecessary.
‘What luck! A great misfortune has been avoided!’ declares the butler upon seeing you both safe and sound. ‘No one was expecting Your Lordship, for we had not been informed of your arrival. Come quickly and take shelter.’

'A gigantic catastrophe is inevitable in the coming hours if the Thugs remain in possession of the Sacred Katar. After consulting the charter of the heavens, my calculations show that a solar eclipse will take place today. It will be total as soon as the sun reaches its zenith: this is certainly the critical moment that the worshippers of Evil will choose to act. I do not know where or how, but whatever happens, they must be stopped at all costs! But I am powerless here. The Maharaja, the Crown Prince and their foreign guest are on the trail of a “man-eater”, and your father left the palace at dusk. I hope you will find a solution while I immerse myself in the sacred texts to learn more about how to thwart the plans of Kali's followers. Luego desciendes al patio interior bordeado de elegantes columnatas esculpidas. La princesa está apoyada en la pila de una elegante fuente de mármol. Las finas gotas ya refrescan la temperatura de la mañana.

—Este es un momento serio —declara Roxanne sin preámbulos—. Mientras dormías, informé a Indranapurna del descubrimiento del Katar Sagrado y luego de su robo por parte de los Thugs. Mi mayordomo acaba de regresar de palacio con su respuesta:

—”Se producirá una catástrofe gigantesca en las próximas horas si los Thugs siguen en posesión del Katar Sagrado. Tras consultar la carta de los cielos, mis cálculos muestran que hoy tendrá lugar un eclipse solar. Será total tan pronto como el sol alcance su cenit: es sin duda en este momento crítico en el que los adoradores del Mal elegirán actuar. No sé dónde ni cómo; pase lo que pase, ¡hay que evitarlo a toda costa! Pero aquí estoy impotente. El maharajá, el príncipe heredero y su anfitrión extranjero están tras la pista de un "devorador de hombres", y tu padre abandonó el palacio al anochecer. Espero que encuentres una solución mientras profundizo en los textos sagrados para aprender más sobre las formas de frustrar los planes de los seguidores de Kali. Te enviaré un mensaje en cuanto termine mi investigación”.
